About FWT
Our Story
How we became India’s Pioneer in Friction Welding
Driven by a vision for technological advancement in India, entrepreneur and innovator Yatin Tambe founded Friction Welding Technologies (FWT) in 2002. With a relentless commitment to quality and a passion for pushing engineering boundaries, FWT quickly grew from a small startup into global name in friction welding. Investing over 30% of our resources into research and development, our in-house innovation team consistently sets new benchmarks in friction welding technology, quality, and operational excellence.
In 2022, MTI acquired a majority share of FWT after a successful multi-year partnership formalized in 2017. Bringing us to the present day in which FWT manufactures world-class, cutting-edge friction welding machines and offers contract manufacturing services to clients across diverse sectors, from agriculture and trucking to aerospace, oil & gas, nuclear energy, and beyond. Our machines and services are trusted both in India and globally for their precision, durability, and reliability—qualities that reflect our ongoing commitment to customer success.
Our vision is clear: to be a leader on the global stage while delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions. As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to advancing friction welding technology and to empowering industries with solutions that stand the test of time.

Educate the girl child | Creating an Evolved Society
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The core purpose of this initiative is to encourage girl child education. It involves providing them with academic and social support to continue education, thereby meeting the challenges of society through their overall development. To that effect, FWT provides academic material and individual support to ensure overall development of the girl child of its blue collar employees.
Even if the employee leaves the organization, the support would continue until a girl child completes her education. If a child wants to pursue further education, the support continues to cover for her education for as long as she wants to study.
FWT continuously monitors the development of the child, interacts with the teachers, provides necessary support in terms of tuition, counseling, motivating, conduction half-yearly reviews, celebrating achievements, and encouraging them to pursue a hobby of their choice such as yoga, music, etc.
We have observed that even a little bit of motivation goes a long way in building overall personality of the individual. In the case of our “Educate the Girl Child” initiative, we have experienced many such transformations since 2015. We have witnessed that their academic performance has sky-rocketed and they have grown remarkably more confidant.
These girls are so excited about learning, acquiring practical skills, participating in academics, as well as non-academic or extra-curricular activities, and they are just as curious as us (in some cases even more)!
This includes girls from the ages of 6 to 17 years old.
One such case study is that of Mayuri Sambre. She has topped the merit list of Lokmanya Tilak Gunvatta Yadi. Further, she has bagged first prize in Tabla competition and is performing exceptionally well in Yoga, too.
CSR Activity in Association With Snehankur NGO
FWT in association with SNEHANKUR NGO took a step towards nurturing new dreams. As a part of it, the FWT team distributed stationary material to students from Bhor and Purandar District Schools. Afterwards, FWT visited a school near Ketkawale village to distribute stationary.
